Michael Biondo is a fun loving, energetic guy with a great sense of style and a no-pretense way of looking at life.
He is a Designer with over 23 years experience providing a broad range of design services, including interior décor design, personal styling, and event production.
After graduating college in Philadelphia, Michael began his career at Macy’s in the late 1980’s as one of its first ever male personal shoppers. Loving his work, but wanting to branch out more creatively, Michael moved to NYC and took up residence in what may well be the smallest one-bedroom apartment known to man in Greenwich Village. There, he began designing his own line of women’s exclusive eveningwear under the label “Michael Biondo Couture.”
A few years later, Michael relocated to Bucks County, PA in the beautiful and historic town of New Hope, where he opened his first of two boutiques called Baby Jane’s. The boutiques celebrated the Golden Age of Hollywood and Michael designed them to resemble a Hollywood star’s dressing room of the time period. The shop featured Michael’s original evening wear designs, distinctive elegant vintage clothing dating from the 1930’s-1970’s, and a variety of original and reproduction Hollywood memorabilia. To promote his boutique, Michael produced elaborate dinner fashion shows featuring celebrity impersonators of Hollywood’s bygone era.
By the mid 1990’s, Michael’s passions had led him to delve more deeply into interior décor design as he also strived to develop the many intricacies of entertaining. Michael soon became known for his beautiful gracious home, and the lively, elegant cocktail parties and dinners he hosted for friends, family, and charities. In 2000 Michael was thrilled to be asked by a producer that he and his beautiful historic circa 1842 New Hope home be featured on Design Basics, a half hour television show that aired on HGTV showcasing Michael's concepts on gracious living.
In mid-2001, Michael returned to Manhattan where he lived in West Greenwich Village, thankfully in a much larger apartment. He continued to showcase his design abilities and began collaborating with public figures and socialites in both the United States and Europe. He produced magical events, created beautiful interiors, and custom-designed exclusive evening wear for stage and red carpet appearances, all while styling his clients’ daily wardrobes. Michael accompanied his celebrity clientele throughout the USA and Europe, redesigning their hotel suites for extended stays, styling their wardrobe, and custom designing their eveningwear for special appearances on stage, television and international state dinners, while also planning his client's cocktail receptions and formal dinner parties while on location.
During Michael’s years in Manhattan, Michael was featured in international, national, and local media, including a cover story in The Wall Street Journal, CNN, the New York Post, and New York Post – Page Six, ABC News, USA Today as well as television shows in both the USA and Europe. Michael has also appeared on radio programs in both national and NY-Metro markets. Michael’s personal styling and interior décor work has appeared on 60 Minutes, LIVE with Regis & Kelly, Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America, CNN, VH-1, Glamour Magazine, Celebrity Recording Artist CD Covers, and Independent Films and Television Pilots. Michael always dreamed of having a television show where he could bring his expertise to the masses, and during Michael's time in Manhattan, he was grateful to be offered three design related television shows, but after working in the industry and seeing how things work first hand, he realized that was not the direction he wanted to take his career, and life in.
While living in Manhattan, Michael completed a home décor project in St. Thomas, US Virgin Island, and in late 2008, was retained by the same client to design and oversee a complete renovation for their new Southwest Florida waterfront home. Michael marveled at the beauty of the Southwest Florida coast and felt compelled to make it his new home. Michael transitioned his design firm over the next year from Manhattan to Southwest Florida, and today, Michael Biondo works and lives gratefully, happily, and peacefully in Naples, Florida.
Michael has been fortunate to collaborate with wonderful clients in Naples and Rosemary Beach along scenic 30A, on their vacation homes, and has been honored to be asked to design his client’s primary residences as well. In addition, Michael has worked with some of the top architects and builders in Naples and has had the privilege to be selected to work as the sole designer of multimillion dollar showcase homes where Michael custom designed the kitchens, butler pantries and multiple baths, while selecting all finishes for the homes. Michael also selected all furnishings and accessories for the homes interior and outdoor living spaces. His design work has been exceptionally received in the Naples real estate market, and by the homeowners that purchased the showcase homes that feature Michaels design work.
Michael strives to live in a state of gratitude and passionately believes in philanthropy to help those less fortunate. In addition to contributions to his favorite charities, Michael is interested in the ideas of others on how he could better assist those in need.
